I think that the book
is going to be compared to something like The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne. Its understood that during this time period there were not many happy times in Germany and surrounding areas. Just the only thing different I'd like in this book compared to The Boy In The Striped Pajamas is that if it is a little less graphic. That novel provided to us what had happened around World War II but without actually
having to explain it and by putting it in words of a child who didn't know much. The Book Thief looks like it'll take the same path as the Boy in the stripped pajamas which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Reading the reviews before approaching this book, it seems like the book will be decent. I wonder how others would react to this comparison.
